A small box to put tobacco or tea leaves. The motif of the wild Japanese pampas grass and dragonflies were lacquered entirely. These are the typical motives which indicate the autumn season. The dragonflies were depicted freely with the rules of perspective. It amuses the viewers‘ eyes. Wings and bodies of the dragonflies were made with mother-of pearl carefully. Very charming box it is in good condition.
