Tanaka Kōsai (1912-1993)

Born in Kyoto, he studied under Kameyama Kochikusai and his father, Tanaka Gochiku. In 1976, he won the Japan Art Crafts Association Encouragement Award at the 25th Exhibition of Japanese Traditional Art Crafts. He continued to produce imaginative new designs especially for flower baskets, charcoal containers, and other tea ceremony utensils.
